FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MONTREAL, QC, April 27, 2021 (Press Release) – Numera today released the latest update of its Global Manufacturing Tracker, which reveals factory output recovered in March as US factories normalized operating following severe winter storms in February.
Numera’s advance estimates for March point to a 1.3% gain worldwide last month, led by a 3% increase in the United States. Besides more benign weather conditions, US producers are benefiting from rising orders for machinery and equipment in expectation of stronger final demand.
We expect demand for manufactured goods to improve further in the coming months on the back of rising consumer confidence, high excess savings, and rising mobility across developed markets.
